Andrei Kikot, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation- Head of the Service for Issues of Citizenship and Registration of Foreign Citizens of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has been elected as a new Chairman of the Council of Heads of Migration Bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The relevant decision was adopted during the 29th meeting of the Council of Heads of Migration Bodies of CIS member states in Baku on Thursday.
In his remarks, Andrei Kikot noted that the migration flows could contribute positively to the economic, demographic, and social development of the countries, saying that these flows are also coming with huge risks.
“In this vein, one of the Council’s key internal tasks is stepping up the effectiveness of the relevant bodies,” he added.
