The 9th Florida Keys International Music Competition, traditionally held in the United States, will mark the 140th anniversary of the prominent Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayli.
According to the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, the competition is open to professional and amateur musicians of all ages. First, candidates must register on the competition website and send their performances to the organizers in video format online. The winners will be determined by a jury of famous performers and mentors in various categories. The selected participants will have a chance to perform at a gala concert at Carnegie Hall in New York this November. Additionally, some of the winners will have the opportunity to take a stage at larger audiences in Europe.
The gala concert will be organized by the Florida Azerbaijani-American Cultural Association, with the support of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora.
The competition, established in honour of the prominent Azerbaijani composer Jevdat Hajiyev, is held annually. Its main mission is to support young talented musicians in developing their musical individuality and improving their mastery and to give the opportunity to young musicians to show their talents and individual abilities.
