“Armenia has entered a stage that coincides with Azerbaijan's policy in terms of its national interests. The next phase is expected to involve opening the Türkiye–Armenia land border. This will create conditions for cargo transportation to Azerbaijan and Central Asia through the territory of Armenia, and as a result, the country will receive additional economic benefits,” Turkish political expert Engin Ozer told AZERTAC.

According to the expert, the balanced policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev in recent years is consistent with these goals.

Engin Ozer also pointed out the difficulties within Armenia, noting that the Dashnaks and the Russian military bases still present in the country are putting serious pressure on the Pashinyan government.

He stressed that Armenia has a serious need to open the border with Türkiye. “Currently, Armenia communicates with the world mainly through Georgia, which results in both a significant loss of income and economic dependence. If there is no internal destabilization, Armenia will comply with the agreement,” the Turkish expert added.
