Newly appointed Chinese ambassador to Azerbaijan arrives in Baku

The newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, arrived in Baku on April 14 to officially begin her diplomatic mission.

The Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan confirmed the ambassador's arrival to Report. Lu Mei was welcomed at the airport by representatives of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with senior diplomats and staff from the Chinese Embassy.

During the welcoming ceremony, Ambassador Lu Mei emphasized the strong and friendly ties between China and Azerbaijan, describing the two nations as "sincere and reliable friends" as well as "equal and mutually beneficial partners."

She noted that it is a great honor for her to represent China in Azerbaijan during a pivotal period when bilateral relations are expanding across various fields under the strategic leadership of the two countries' presidents.

Ambassador Lu expressed her commitment to advancing the key agreements reached by the heads of state and stated her readiness to work closely with representatives from all sectors of Azerbaijani society. Her goal, she said, is to deepen pragmatic cooperation, foster mutual understanding between the peoples, and elevate the China-Azerbaijan strategic partnership to a new level.
