Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry extends condolences to Israel

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has extended its condolences to the families of two Israeli diplomats killed in an attack in Washington, as well as to the State of Israel, Report informs, citing the ministry's post on X.

"We strongly condemn this cowardly act of violence, which seeks to sow fear and division," the ministry said.

Two staff members of the Israeli Embassy were killed in front of the Jewish Museum in Washington.

According to Washington Police Chief Pamela Smith, the victims were a man and a woman. They were shot by a 30-year-old suspect as they were leaving an event at the museum. Smith noted that the suspect shouted "Free Palestine!" during his arrest.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi has already visited the crime scene.

US President Donald Trump called the Washington shooting an "act based on antisemitism" on Truth Social.
