Azerbaijani FM meets with outgoing Egyptian ambassador

Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Egyptian Ambassador Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid who is concluding his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov thanked Ambassador Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid for his productive diplomatic activity in the country, contributions to Azerbaijani-Egyptian relations, and wished him success in his future endeavors.

The Minister emphasized the special significance of Azerbaijan-Egypt relations based on historical friendship and brotherhood, and lauded the existing cooperation between the countries in political, economic, cultural and other areas. The FM underscored successful interaction between the two countries both bilaterally and within multilateral platforms such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and D-8.

During the conversation, the sides noted that the reciprocal official visits of the two countries’ leaders in 2023 and 2024 have given a special impetus to the relations between the two countries.

The parties also exchanged views on the activities of the Joint Commission on Intergovernmental Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Egypt and the intensification of political consultation mechanisms between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as well as other issues.

The meeting also highlighted positive trends in further expansion of relations in the economic, trade and tourism sectors.

Egyptian Ambassador Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid expressed his gratitude for the attention and support provided to him during his tenure in Azerbaijan.
