On June 30, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with Bulgaria’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elena Shekerletova to discuss various aspects of the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria strategic partnership.
The discussions covered key areas of cooperation, including economic development, trade, energy security, green energy, humanitarian efforts, and cultural exchanges, as well as future steps to deepen ties. Both sides also addressed regional and international security matters.
The officials emphasized the importance of reciprocal high-level visits and dialogue in advancing the strategic partnership. They highlighted the significant role of the Joint Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation in fostering collaboration between the two nations.
Both parties underscored the critical role of joint initiatives in ensuring Europe’s energy security, noting substantial opportunities for expanding cooperation, particularly in developing new green energy projects.
Minister Bayramov provided an overview of post-conflict developments in the region, detailing Azerbaijan’s ongoing large-scale restoration and demining efforts in its liberated territories, as well as progress in the normalization process with Armenia.
The meeting also addressed other topics of mutual interest.
On the same day, political consultations took place between the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria. The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Fariz Rzayev, while the Bulgarian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova.
