The seventh round of consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was held in Baku.
The consultations were led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Vladislav Kanevsky, Head of the Consular Service Department of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Science and Education, the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, the State Migration Service, as well as diplomats from the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in Azerbaijan.
The consultations focused on the current state of and prospects for bilateral consular relations and opportunities for expanding the legal framework between the two countries.
The sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in protecting the rights and legitimate interests of Azerbaijani and Ukrainian citizens.
They also exchanged views on best practices in implementing digital services and processes in consular affairs, as well as on visa and migration policies.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a protocol summarizing the discussions.
