On March 17, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the call, the sides discussed the regional situation and bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the importance of Iran finalizing the investigation in adherence to the pledges issued following the drone attacks carried out on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic from the territory of Iran.
FM Bayramov empahsized that civilian facilities should not be targeted during the ongoing war, adding that Azerbaijan advocates for a swift de-escalation of hostilities and resolving the existing challenges through negotiations.
During the telephone conversation, the foreign ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
