Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Istanbul.

The sides hailed the current state of relations between the two brotherly countries. They also emphasized the contribution of parliaments to bilateral cooperation.

The officials highlighted the importance of further expanding interparliamentary cooperation both bilaterally and within international parliamentary organizations, praising the solidarity and mutual support between the two countries in these platforms. Stressing that the IPU serves as an important platform in this regard, the sides also noted the significance of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network in strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
