In January-July of 2025, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad decreased by 2.8% year-on-year, to 1,188,900 people, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
Some 40.6% of them traveled to Türkiye, 15.7% to Russia, 11.2% to Georgia, 8.9% to Iran, and 23.6% to other countries, with 64.7% of them being men and 35.3% being women.
Compared to a year ago, the number of Azerbaijani citizens traveling to Iran rose by 0.8%, and those heading to Georgia increased by 25.9%. In contrast, travel to Türkiye declined by 4.2%, and visits to Russia saw a significant drop of 28.5%.
During the reporting period, 69.8% of Azerbaijani citizens traveling abroad used air transport, 28.2% used rail and road transport, and 2% used sea transport.
