BHOS student wins $100,000 scholarship from U.S. university

Gulshan Mammadli, a bachelor's student at the Chemical Engineering Department of Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) of SOCAR has been accepted to the doctoral program of Tulane University (USA).

Thus, the BHOS student, who has not yet received a bachelor’s or master’s degree, has become a doctoral student at this prestigious American university, where she will study in the specialty “Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering”.

Under this program, Gulshan will be provided with an annual scholarship of US$100,000.

In addition, the BHOS student was accepted to Master’s program in Chemical Engineering of the New York University Tandon School of Engineering and Master’s program in Advanced Chemical Engineering of the University of Leeds.

Gulshan entered BHOS in 2020 with 658 points. Her team won first place in the Green Tech startup and green technology competition. Gulshan and her team took 2nd place at the V International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists and 3rd place at the IV Scientific Conference, held at BHOS. She became the winner of the scholarship program for girls announced by AGAGroup in 2023.
