Baku is currently being hit by a powerful downpour and fierce winds, with lightning crackling across the skies in some areas.
According to Report, the National Hydrometeorology Service has released an update on the actual weather conditions.
As of 6:00 AM this Wednesday, the rain that began around midnight has intensified into a torrential downpour.
The automatic meteorological station in Gobustan recorded 33 mm of rainfall since 00:10 – a staggering 66% of the region’s monthly norm, categorizing it as a hazardous hydrometeorological event.
Meanwhile, the mountain regions – Dashkasan, Griz (in Guba), Khinalig, and Gadabay – are blanketed in snow.
Baku and the Absheron Peninsula are now experiencing relentless rain and storm-force winds, turning the early morning into a battle of the elements.
