Azerbaijan Fish Farm is once again representing Azerbaijan at Seafood Expo Global — the largest and most prestigious international seafood exhibition, taking place from May 6–8 in Barcelona. As the only participating company from Azerbaijan, the company continues to highlight the country’s growing role in sustainable aquaculture and the production of high-quality sturgeon caviar.
Building on its debut last year, Azerbaijan Fish Farm is using this global platform not only to present its product, but also to promote a broader mission: responsible production and environmental stewardship. The company is actively engaged in initiatives aimed at protecting and restoring sturgeon populations in the Caspian Sea, including the release of juvenile fish, scientific tagging and tracking, and collaboration with research institutions.
“Participating in Seafood Expo Global is an opportunity to share the work we carry out every day — combining tradition with science and a responsible approach to aquaculture,” said the company’s director Nurlan Abdinov. “We are proud to represent Azerbaijan on such a respected international platform.”
The company was established in 2017 and, in 2018, completed the privatization and full reconstruction of Azerbaijan’s first sturgeon hatchery, which has been operating since 1954.
Today, the company plays a key role in the region’s aquaculture sector and serves as a model for how commercial production can align with environmental responsibility.
Seafood Expo Global annually gathers thousands of participants from around the world — including producers, distributors, large retail networks, and sustainability-focused organizations. Azerbaijan Fish Farm’s participation in this international event creates new opportunities for expanding partnerships and exports, while showcasing Azerbaijan’s contribution to the development of responsible fish farming.
