As part of his visit to China, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli met with Yan Dong, Vice Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized that Azerbaijan-China relations - founded on mutual friendship and trust - are based on a strong foundation. They also noted the broad opportunities for further expansion of trade ties between the two countries.
The two officials discussed the prospects for deepening economic and trade cooperation.
The meeting also included bilateral discussions on goods and services in the context of Azerbaijan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). As a result, negotiations on goods and services between Azerbaijan and China were concluded, and both parties agreed to sign a bilateral protocol within the WTO accession framework.
As part of the visit, Deputy Minister Samad Bashirli also met with Song Hui, CEO of TBEA (Tebian Electric Apparatus), a leading Chinese enterprise specializing in power transmission, renewable energy, new materials, and integrated energy solutions.
During the meeting, Samad Bashirli provided an overview of Azerbaijan’s favorable business environment and the investment opportunities available in the country. The sides exchanged views on potential areas for future cooperation.
