A reception marking World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year was held in Washington.
The event was attended by diplomats from Turkic-speaking countries accredited to U.S., representatives of the Azerbaijani Embassy in the United States, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Kubanychbek Omuraliev, and members of Azerbaijani and other Turkic communities.
The event began with the performance of the national anthem of Azerbaijan. Addressing the gathering, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United States Khazar Ibrahim noted that this year’s event was specially held with representatives of the Turkic world.
Kubanychbek Omuraliev also expressed his pride in participating in the event dedicated to World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day. He highlighted that UNESCO had, for the first time, designated December 15 as World Turkic Language Family Day, emphasizing its significance for Turkish culture.
The guests concluded the event by enjoying Azerbaijani cuisine.
