“Successful reforms are being implemented in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. The public and private sectors cannot function effectively in isolation. Azerbaijan is undergoing dynamic development guided by the country’s leadership,” said Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev as he addressed the LEGIS Law Forum.
He further noted that legal science is evolving in line with societal changes, leading to the emergence of new areas of law.
Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General stated that certain areas of law are gradually becoming obsolete. “When adopting laws, it is essential to consider a number of factors. In recent years, the staff of the Prosecutor’s Office has been composed entirely of lawyers, which is why we attach great importance to the development of legal education. Legal education should prioritize critical thinking. Lawyers should not be viewed merely as technical appliers of the law; they must understand its underlying realities,” Kamran Aliyev said.
He also stressed the importance of integrating information technologies into higher education institutions, noting that artificial intelligence (AI) does not oppose human intelligence. “On the contrary, by applying AI, we enhance our own intellectual capacity,” Kamran Aliyev added.
