Chief of General Staff visits Heydar Aliyev Military Institute

On the occasion of the upcoming Armed Forces Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan, First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, visited the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute and met with officers, cadets, and academic staff, the Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.

The visit began with the laying of flowers at the statue of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and at the Memorial Complex dedicated to the martyrs, honoring their memory with deep respect.

In his address, Colonel General Valiyev spoke about the successful reforms carried out under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev. He emphasized the positive impact of international military experience and modern technological advancements on the development of military science and education in the Azerbaijani Army.

Highlighting the remarks made by the President during the inauguration of the "Azerbaijan" Quarter in Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye, Colonel General Valiyev underlined that the strategic alliance between the two brotherly countries is founded on deep-rooted friendship and fraternal relations, and continues to strengthen.

Addressing the cadets, Colonel General Valiyev encouraged them to focus on continuous self-improvement and professional development to become capable and competent officers. He wished them success in their future service.

At the end of the visit, the Minister of Defense’s instructions on enhancing the quality of education were conveyed to the leadership of the military educational institution, and specific directives were issued to the relevant responsible personnel.
