The 3rd Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum was held in Baku with the support of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, and organized by the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO).

Government officials and representatives of companies operating in industry, energy, agriculture, logistics, pharmaceuticals, food, tourism, and consulting from both countries participated in the event.

Addressing the forum, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized that the “Treaty on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan,” signed by the heads of state last year, has further strengthened bilateral relations.

He described the interregional forums jointly held with Uzbekistan as an effective platform for advancing relations. “Many of the joint projects launched last year as part of the meeting of the heads of state with entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan are being implemented in the regions of our countries. Along with contributing to the balanced development of the regions, these projects also serve to intensify economic partnership,” he said.

Mikayil Jabbarov noted that in January–May 2025, the volume of trade turnover between the two countries exceeded $200 million. However, efforts are ongoing to promote exports, expand joint investment activities, and develop direct business ties. He also emphasized the planned establishment of a Trade Representative Office of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan.

The minister highlighted the broad potential for strengthening relations across key areas such as trade, investment, industry, energy, transport and transit, as well as business activities in the Alat Free Economic Zone and the liberated territories.

At the forum, Uzbek business representatives were invited to actively take advantage of the business opportunities available in Azerbaijan.

In his remarks, Laziz Kudratov, Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, emphasized the expansion of high-level Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations and growing economic and trade cooperation. He shared his views on the implementation of joint investment projects and enhancing partnerships between the business communities of both countries.

AZPROMO Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev, KOBİA Chairman Orkhan Mammadov, and First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Uzkimyosanoat JSC, Evgeniy Korzhikov, shared their perspectives on the investment climate in both countries and joint business prospects.

Nuriddin Mamajonov, Deputy Governor of Fergana Region, highlighted the economic opportunities in the region he represents and outlined potential areas of cooperation with Azerbaijan.

The forum focused on enhancing relations between the regions of both countries and implementing joint initiatives.

The event continued with B2B and B2G meetings.
