Tahir Budagov, Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party, Head of the Central Apparatus, met Tuesday with Lu Mei, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the country.
The Deputy Chairman congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of her diplomatic tenure in Azerbaijan, expressing confidence that she would make a significant contribution to the development of constructive cooperation between the two countries.
The Chinese Ambassador expressed satisfaction with working in Azerbaijan, viewing it as a reliable strategic partner for China.
Both sides praised the dynamic development of Azerbaijani-Chinese relations, attributing it to the joint efforts of President Ilham Aliyev and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The meeting also underscored the importance of President Ilham Aliyev's recent state visit to China. They noted that the "Joint Declaration on the Establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China" signed by the heads of state elevated relations between the two countries to a higher level.
It was noted that Azerbaijan and China, which unequivocally support each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty, pay special attention to cooperation at the international level as friendly and partner states. The two also reaffirmed that both countries, which advocate strengthening security and mutually beneficial cooperation in Eurasia, are interested in fostering relations in various areas, including trade and economic, transport and logistics, cultural, humanitarian, green energy and others.
Highlighting the importance of close contacts, including reciprocal visits, in the context of active political dialogue between the New Azerbaijan Party and the Communist Party of China (CPC), the parties described the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the CPC and YAP last November as a crucial contribution to the further strengthening of relations between the two countries. They hailed the fact that the fruitful cooperation between the parties based on mutual respect and trust is progressing with confidence.
