Azerbaijani delegation visits Ankara for international conference

A delegation led by Adalat Valiyev, Head of the Department for Relations with Political Parties and Legislative Authority of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has travelled to Ankara to participate in an international conference entitled "Return to Western Azerbaijan: An Essential Condition for the Supremacy of Human Rights." The conference will take place in Ankara, Turkiye, on May 21.

The delegation includes officials from the Presidential Administration, members of the Milli Majlis, and representatives from the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, the Center for Analysis of International Relations, ADA University, the Western Azerbaijan Community, and the "Azerbaijan-Turkiye House" Public Union.

On May 20, the delegation visited the Heydar Aliyev Park in Ankara, where they laid a wreath at the monument to Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, and paid their respects.

The delegation then visited Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkiye. They laid a wreath at Atatürk's tomb and commemorated his memory.

Following the visit to Anıtkabir, a meeting was held with Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş at the Grand National Assembly. During the meeting, the strong foundation of inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Turkiye was highlighted. Discussions also focused on the benefits of these ties on the international stage and the importance of strengthening the activities of parliamentary friendship groups.

At a meeting with Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz at the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Turkiye, the upward trajectory of relations between the two brotherly countries was discussed. Both sides emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, through their unwavering commitment, have always upheld the principle of "One nation, two states," and have stood by each other in times of difficulty.

As part of the visit, the delegation met with Efkan Ala, First Vice Chairman of the Justice and Development Party. The discussion focused on enhancing the mutual exchange of experiences between the ruling political parties on various topics in the future.

Over 200 participants from Azerbaijan and Turkiye are expected to attend the international conference.
