According to the Protocol of Intent between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Defense of the Italian Republic on cooperation in the field of training and education of naval personnel, commemorative gifts are presented on behalf of the Naval Forces Commands to distinguished graduates of special military institutions in both countries, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.

A "Navy Dirk" and a certificate signed by the Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces were presented to Junior Lieutenant Ricardo Romano, who graduated with distinction from the Naval Academy in Livorno, Italy.

The gift was handed over by a representative of the Military Attaché Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Italy.

It should be noted that, in accordance with the provisions of the Protocol of Intent, an officer who graduates with distinction from the Naval Forces Faculty of the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev under the National Defense University is presented with the “Honorary Dirk” on behalf of the Italian Naval Forces Command.
