“Looking at the root of Islamophobia, we realize that this issue is not only related to religious integration, wrongful behaviors, or the passivity of the Muslim world. Its root causes run much deeper,” said Hüseyin Işıksal, the Special Advisor to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President on International Relations and Diplomacy, at the plenary session on Institutionalization of Anti-Muslim Legislation in Europe: Rhetoric in the Context of Radicalization of Islamophobic Propaganda as part of the international conference titled “Islamophobia in Focus: Unveiling Bias, Shattering Stigmas”.
“Today, Muslims in Europe are subjected to widespread discrimination. Unfortunately, I must say that Islamophobia will persist for a long time. It is not weakening, on the contrary, it is growing stronger. As Muslim organizations, we must stand together united on this issue and take collective steps," Hüseyin Işıksal added.
