A delegation of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency paid a working visit to Uzbekistan.
The visit aims to share Azerbaijan’s experience for application in a new state institution to be established in Uzbekistan in the field of food safety.
Discussions focused on a unified management system in the food safety sector, risk-based approaches to food safety, the creation of a legal framework, the formation of management mechanisms in crisis situations, the importance of rapid alert systems, inspection and control measures, as well as import-export procedures and other related issues.
The state management models applied in Azerbaijan were hailed, and strong interest was expressed in the country’s food safety experience.
Other meetings and presentations by the Azerbaijani delegation in Uzbekistan are scheduled to be held.
