Members of OTS Council of Elders visit Alley of Honors and Alley of Martyrs

Members of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the architect and founder of the independent Azerbaijani state, and laid a wreath and flowers at his grave.

They also placed flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

The members of the OTS Council of Elders then proceeded to the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate the Azerbaijani heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and territorial integrity, placing flowers at their graves and a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument.

The delegation also visited the “Turkish Martyrdom” monument, erected in memory of the heroic Turkish soldiers who died in the battles for the liberation of Baku from the Bolshevik-Armenian Dashnak troops in 1918, and laid a wreath and flowers at the monument.
