The ninth edition of the Egypt International Energy Conference and Exhibition (EGYPES 2026) kicked off on Monday in the city of Cairo under the patronage of Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic of Egypt.
The event, which is expected to run until April 1, is considered the most prominent platform for the energy sector in North Africa and the Mediterranean.
The event boasts a massive participation, featuring over 500 exhibiting companies and 350 international speakers representing governments, organizations, and major energy companies. It also includes the presence of 51 national and international energy companies and 13 country pavilions.
Azerbaijan is represented at the event by a delegation led by Vitaliy Baylarbayov, Deputy Vice President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
The conference, held under the the theme "Transforming Energy through Collaboration, Action, and Realism", aims to enhance Egypt's position as a regional energy hub, attract new investments that will raise domestic production rates, promote opportunities for cooperation and investment partnerships, and support efforts to develop energy resources and maximize the utilization of Egypt's existing infrastructure.
