Azerbaijan’s Minister of Health, Teymur Musayev, met today with a visiting delegation led by Latvia’s Minister of Health, Hosams Abu Meri, to discuss deepening bilateral ties in the medical sector.
Minister Musayev highlighted the successful, ongoing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia across various fields, particularly healthcare. He noted that ample opportunities exist to expand mutual knowledge exchanges in medical education, continuous professional development for doctors, scientific research, and the integration of innovative medical technologies.
Musayev also emphasized that the digital transformation of the healthcare system remains a core priority of Azerbaijan’s health policy, sharing details on the key initiatives currently underway to achieve this goal.
During the meeting, the ministers recalled the 2025 agreement on cooperation in healthcare and medical science signed between their respective institutions, affirming its role as a vital catalyst for stronger bilateral relations.
The Latvian Health Minister praised the dynamic growth of the partnership, noting that high-level meetings are instrumental in advancing healthcare systems, expanding professional expertise, and reinforcing the strategic bond between the two nations.
Concluding the meeting, both sides expressed absolute confidence that the partnership between the health ministries of Azerbaijan and Latvia will continue to flourish, driven by mutual trust and shared interests.
