Türkiye-Azerbaijan regional economic forum held in Kars
A Türkiye-Azerbaijan Regional Economic Forum, attended by business representatives from both countries, was held in Kars.
A group of Azerbaijani entrepreneurs, including members of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Entrepreneurs Confederation and KOBİA representatives, visited Kars for the event.
Organized jointly by Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in Kars, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye, the Kars Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and KOBİA, the forum brought together business representatives from various sectors of both countries. Participants also included heads of commerce chambers from Türkiye’s Ardahan, Iğdır, Ağrı, Erzurum, and Van regions, as well as regional representatives of Türkiye’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB).
The forum aimed to inform Turkish businesspeople about Azerbaijan’s favorable business and investment environment, particularly opportunities in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, while fostering broader business connections and promoting bilateral and cross-border trade.
Speakers, including Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Türkiye Rashad Mammadov, Kars Governor Ziya Polat, KOBİA Board Chairman Orkhan Mammadov, Kars Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Kadir Bozan, and KOSGEB Deputy Chairman Selim Serkan Ercan, discussed expanding economic and trade relations, as well as regional cooperation, sharing ideas and proposals for new collaboration opportunities.
Presentations on business and investment opportunities in both countries, as well as the potential for cross-border trade, were delivered. Companies showcased their activities and explored potential cooperation avenues.
During the visit, Azerbaijani entrepreneurs visited several enterprises in Kars and held bilateral meetings with local businesspeople.
KOBİA representatives also met with Kadir Bozan, Ziya Polat, and Kars Mayor Ötüken Senger. Discussions focused on enhancing business cooperation, expanding regional ties, leveraging cross-border trade potential, and coordinating efforts between relevant organizations. KOBİA representatives visited Azerbaijan’s Consulate General in Kars.
