Azerbaijan’s AzerGold, Somali Development and Reconstruction Bank explore cooperation
Khayyam Farzaliyev, Member of the Executive Board and Deputy Chairman of "AzerGold" CJSC, met with Adam Roble, Director General of the Somali Development and Reconstruction Bank, who is visiting Azerbaijan as part of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group.
During the meeting, Khayyam Farzaliyev highlighted the main directions of the company's activities, its achievements, and its work in the field of sustainable development. He emphasized that the geological exploration, extraction, and processing operations carried out by the Company are conducted in accordance with advanced international practices, while also providing an overview of the company’s current projects and future development prospects.
Adam Roble mentioned the activities of the financial institution he represents and the mineral resource potential of Somalia. He noted that the bank is currently participating in the implementation of a national program aimed at studying, mapping, and restoring historical geological data regarding Somalia's rich underground resources, such as gold, uranium, lithium, and titanium.
The Director General highlighted the bank’s intention to benefit from the advanced experience of "AzerGold" CJSC in attracting international investors, as well as in the fields of geological exploration and extraction.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged views took place and reached an agreement to continue the exchange of information at the level of structural departments responsible for foreign project development, with the aim of identifying specific future partnership opportunities.
