Azerbaijan showcased its birdwatching tourism potential at the “Global Bird Fair,” an international birdwatching exhibition held in Rutland, United Kingdom.

During the four-day event, visitors were introduced to Azerbaijan’s ecological diversity, rich birdlife, protected areas, national parks, and conservation efforts aimed at preserving the delicate balance of local ecosystems.

Throughout the exhibition, Azerbaijani representatives explored partnership opportunities with tour operators, organizations, and international experts active in the field.

The “Global Bird Fair” is an annual international event that promotes birdwatching tourism and fosters global collaboration and awareness in this growing sector. This year’s exhibition brought together representatives from 62 countries and 287 international companies.

The State Tourism Agency and its affiliate, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, continue to promote birdwatching as a key pillar of ecotourism, working closely with international experts and the Azerbaijan Ornithological Society.

Their initiatives include producing specialized brochures, organizing familiarization trips for international tour operators and birdwatching experts, and hosting training sessions for nature tourism guides and industry professionals.
